Seventh European KZ2 Championship for Energy Corse!

With a new crown in Italy with the Swedish driver Emil Skaras, Energy Corse is more than ever the most successful team in KZ2 over the last 15 years. In total, Energy Corse has seven European KZ2 Championships, a World victory and a 2nd place in the KZ2 International Super Cup, a European KZ Championship and countless podiums in the FIA Karting events! After the magnificent success for Skaras at Wackersdorf, “Energy Power” still shone over Sarno! Energy Corse continues to be present at major events, thanks to ongoing equipment development work, incredible commitment from every member of the team and unconditional support for its drivers. “After my victory in the first round of the European KZ2 Championship in Germany, I knew the competition would be sharper than ever at this final event in Italy,” said Emil Skaras. “The Sarno weekend was never easy, we had to fight constantly and work hard to stay in the leading pack. The important thing was not to make mistakes and manage my lead in the Championship. I finished every heat in the top six and I was able to score enough points in the Final to take the title. The Energy Corse team has done a fantastic job since the beginning of the season and I also thank my engine builder, Galiffa Kart. Many big teams are involved in KZ2 and it’s great to be able to beat them in this European Championship!“ Energy Corse enabled Isack Sjokvist, also from Sweden, to join the starting grid of the Final thanks to remarkable progress in the Qualifying Heats. Energy Corse chassis effective on all fronts In recent weeks, many other podiums have rewarded drivers in the Energy Corse colours. Already the leader of the German Junior Championship (DJKM) when he arrived at Wackersdorf, the Dutchman Robert De Haan added two superb victories to his record and widened the gap in the overall standings. De Haan is also a major player in the European Championship, as evidenced by his 4th place in the Final at the Belgian Grand Prix at Genk. The harvest of trophies also continues in 60 Mini, a category where the knowledge of the Italian brand continues to be confirmed with each new competition. In the Italian Championship, Alex Powell imposed his Energy Corse chassis very well in Race 2 on the Castelletto circuit. The young Jamaican mounted the podium again at the next race in Siena, again in Race 2. This time, another driver in the colours of Energy Corse dominated the race and took the finish as a big winner, Francesco Marenghi from the ASD Revolution team. In France, Clément Outran has taken two very important victories in Mini: at Brignoles during the very competitive French Cup and at Laval in the IAME Series. And in Russia, the Ni Racing Energy Russia team dominated the third round of the Championship on the Kursk circuit. This meant we saw four Energy Corse chassis in the top four places of the Super Mini category, as well as a magnificent double in

Energy Corse: winner and leader of the KZ2 European Championship

In the wake of an already very successful start to the season, the Energy Corse team has taken podiums in different categories and competitions: WSK, Andrea Margutti Trophy, National Championships, as well as in FIA Karting. At Wackersdorf in the German Kart Grand Prix, Emil Skaras led the KZ2 Final from start to finish with an Energy Corse-TM package more effective than ever before. The Swedish driver is now a strong leader of the European Championship!  Perfect Final for Emil Skaras with Energy Corse-TM Already noticed in 2018 and more recently in the WSK Euro Series at Sarno, Emil Skaras raised the colours of Energy Corse to the top of international karting, triumphing with panache during the first round of the KZ2 European Championship. “I am pleased to see that all the development work done this winter on the equipment continues to bear fruit,” said Mick Panigada, Energy Corse’s team. “With Emil Skaras in KZ2, Robert De Haan in OK-Junior and Alex Powell in 60 Mini in particular, podiums are frequent and confirm that we have a technical package at the top level and brilliant technicians in our structure.“ It is true that Energy Corse has one of the best records in the category and that the Italian chassis remains a benchmark in KZ2. Emil Skaras made a brilliant demonstration of this in Germany. A strong 2nd in the heats with three wins, he made the best start in the Final and no one managed to dislodge him from 1st place. On the podium, the Swede savoured his victory with his team manager! Two podiums for De Haan in OK-Junior In addition to his dominance during the first of the three FIA Karting Academy Trophy events (victories in the Final and in all three heats with four fastest laps!), this season Robert De Haan is one of the main players in the OK-Junior pack. The Dutchman leads the WSK Euro Series after a 2nd place finish in the Prefinal and 4th in the Final at Sarno, then another 2nd place in the Prefinal and the same P2 in the Final at Angerville. In addition, he mounted the second step of the podium at the opening of the French Championship! He was also at the forefront of the European Championship, before running out of luck. Russia’s Maksim Soldatov has also made a name for himself on a number of occasions, while the Energy Corse team continues to support the progression of Marcos Flack and Connor Zilisch. 60 Mini: Success and Performance As Alex Powell continues to fight for the podium, the Energy Corse chassis are ubiquitous in the leading pack in the category of young drivers. Kirill Kutskov, Dmitriy Matveev, German Foteev, Vladimir Verkholantsev, Alexander Plotnikov, Yaroslav Trukhin, Marcus Saeter (ASD Revolution Motorsport) and Rui Chi Zhen were prominent in the WSK Promotion series. As for Powell, he won at La Conca in the WSK Super Master Series, which ended with a magnificent 3rd place overall for the Jamaican, out of a total of 137 drivers classified! Energy Corse dominant in Russia The excellent organisational work done by Energy Russia Niracing has been rewarded with many successes in the Russian Championship. In the first event, Team Akopov enabled Skulanov to win in Mini and Mateev to win in Super Mini, while Plotnikov (SilverRain team) was 3rd in the Super Mini category. The Energy Corse chassis won again in the second round of the Championship. In Super Mini, Batyta (Prima Racing team) won ahead of Mateev (Akopov team). And in Mini, Skulanov won again with team Akopov, who also placed Dzitiev on the third step of the podium. Without doubt, Energy Power is still fully charged in

Masterful double for Energy Corse at the Winter Cup

The season has definitely started strongly for Energy Corse with podiums on different continents and successive performances in Europe. At Lonato, Alex Powell and Kirill Kutskov produced a remarkable double at the Winter Cup in Mini Rok. Energy Corse is certainly one of the best teams in terms of training young kart drivers.   The spirit of competition, the hunger for victory and the positive atmosphere that characterises the Energy Corse team have again pushed the drivers and technical staff to give their best at Lonato during the Winter Cup. This benchmark event was meticulously prepared for by the team managed by Mick Panigada, who does not neglect a single detail, and especially not the human aspect. “Whether they’re young as in Mini and Junior, or older like KZ2, we constantly strive to give drivers the answers they need to get better. The performance of the equipment is important, but effective exploitation of it is even more so. The race strategy is also continuously referred to during the meeting,” said the Italian team manager. Powell wins in front of Kutskov in Mini Rok Very competitive in 60 Mini with their TM engines, the drivers in Energy Corse colours have again progressed to the front in the Mini Rok category, equipped with Vortex engines. Racing at Lonato thanks to his prize won as the winner of the “Dubai O Plate”, Valerio Rinicella proved to be the fastest of the team in Timed Practice with a magnificent 2nd position. Then, his team-mate Alex Powell increased in speed. Ranked 3rd after the heats and 3rd in his Super Heat, the young Jamaican made his presence felt in the Final by taking the lead several times. He ended up winning the Final, watched by Gwen Lagrue, manager of the Mercedes AMG F1 Team young driver programme, who was impressed by the performance of the Energy Corse driver! The other achievement of the day came from Russia’s Kirill Kutskov. Holder of the fastest lap of his Super Heat and starting 13th in the Final, he made a great comeback to reach 2nd place and join Powell on the podium. Not very lucky in the heats, Rinicella was 13th overall after setting the best lap of his Super Heat. Note also the superb 6th place by Davide Marconato of the New Technology Racing Team. Energy Corse with the best in KZ2 and OK-Junior With 98 entries and a very high standard due to the presence of many drivers usually racing in KZ, the KZ2 category highlighted the performance of the Energy Corse chassis. Especially for Emil Skaras. 10th in Qualifying and four times in the top five of the heats, the Swede showed that he was able to race on the pace of the best. His 13th place in the Final is very auspicious for the 2019 season. His compatriot Isak Sjokvist and the Estonian Kallasmaa Kaspar also managed to earn brilliant places among the finalists. The Energy Corse team has confirmed its potential in OK-Junior with the fast Robert De Haan and Maksim Soldatov. The Russian confirmed his excellent qualifications with an 8th position in the Super Heat which predicted a good Final result. Alas, a collision at the start of the decisive race ruined everything. As for De Haan, he managed to get into the top six during the Final, before finding himself in the middle of fierce battles. With his 11th place, the Dutchman confirms that he will be a Junior to follow closely this season. Podiums in Australia For the Italian brand, good news also arrived from the Energy Corse Australia team. In the first event of the Australian Championship, Kye Burke finished 2nd in the “Cadet 9” category, while Jessie Lacey placed 3rd in “Cadet 12”. More accustomed to the V8 Supercars, James Golding joined the fight with the regulars of KZ2 and came out with a magnificent 6th

A strengthened and energetic team to start 2019

More than ever, Energy Corse justifies its status of a benchmark team in international karting, with an extensive race programme and a line-up of talented drivers in the main categories. The training of the youngest drivers, as well as the fight for podiums, will always be on the agenda for the team led by Mick Panigada. Launch at the WSK Champions Cup Several of the drivers announced for 2019 were at work at the end of January on the Adria circuit for the first big event of the season, the WSK Champions Cup, already with a very strong 60 Mini field, as well as many entries in OK-Junior. “Since our last race in 2018, we have not been inactive,” said Mick Panigada. “We continued the development of the equipment while solidifying agreements with our partners and engine builders. The races are continuing at a constant pace and it was important to be ready for the Champions Cup.“ With several qualified drivers among the 34 finalists, the Energy Corse team has made the most of its season debut and has already celebrated its first two top 10 finishes in 60 Mini, with 7th place for the Russian Dmitriy Matveev and 9th for the Jamaican Alex Powell, also winner of several heats. The Russian drivers have definitely shown that they are not lacking in talent in getting noticed in OK-Junior. In the Final, Roman Shaparov made a 13-place climb to cross the finish 18th, two positions ahead of his Dutch team-mate Robert De Haan. The latter was penalised for his spoiler, as was Maksim Soldatov (25th), who had brilliantly ranked 6th in his Prefinal. Recent winner of the Rotax Max Grand Finals in Brazil, De Haan deserved better after finishing the heats in 7th position. De Haan: From the Rotax World Cup to the podium with Energy The Energy Corse team stayed at the Adria circuit for the first of four WSK Super Master Series events, organised just a week later. It was raining during a major part of the meeting, but the dry track was back for the Finals. In 60 Mini, the Final ranking did not really reflect the performance of the drivers of the team who had started full of optimism after Prefinal A. In this race five Energy chassis finished in the top 10, with the top three places going to Kirill Kutskov (leader after the heats), Alex Powell and Dmitriy Matveev! In the end, the best position went to Alex Powell, 4th in the Final. Vladimir Verkholantsev (RUS), Yaroslav Trukhin (RUS), Marcus Saeter (NOR, Revolution Motorsport) and German Foteev (RUS) also held the spotlight. Ranked 3rd in the Champions Cup Final B, Foteev returned to 11th the following week, this time in Final A. In OK-Junior, Robert De Haan confirmed his talent by climbing on the second step of the podium after fighting all weekend at the forefront. The De Haan-Energy association has already produced sparks! As for Maksim Soldatov and Roman Shaparov, they again earned their places in the Final at the wheel of their Energy Corse-TM Racing karts. This is promising… Top threes for Powell and Johnson The blue, red and white chassis are seen on the circuits throughout the world, such as the excellent results achieved by the AKT Energy Racing Team in the United States. At the SKUSA Winter Series, Alex Powell placed 2nd in the Mini Swift Race 1 at the first event in Miami, where the Florida Winter Tour also opened. Nikita Johnson took 3rd place in Mini Rok. “We are pleased to have such motivated and high potential drivers in our team,” continued Mick Panigada. “At Adria, our squad was not yet complete, as other drivers will soon join us. When the KZ2 enter the track, we can also count on two very determined Swedish drivers, Emil Skaras and Isak Sijokvist, while two Australians will join the Energy Corse team for the FIA Karting international meetings.“ The 2019 Energy Corse programme will include the World and European FIA Karting events, all the WSK Promotion races, the Winter Cup in Lonato, the Andrea Margutti Trophy, the Supernationals in Las Vegas, the International Finals for IAME at Le Mans and the Rok Cup at Lonato, as well as the Italian Championship in 60 Mini! So many opportunities to see the colours of the chassis and the Energy Corse factory team shine

Against strong opposition, Energy Corse and Alex Powell finished with the title in 60 Mini. With three podiums in three races including one victory, the Jamaican has deservedly enjoyed this magnificent success. In general, the performance was there for the other Energy Corse drivers and those from the Revolution Motorsport or Energy Russia Nira Racing teams in 60 Mini and OK-Junior. A double podium in Las Vegas With an effective partnership with Energy North America, Speed Concept and AKT Racing Team, the Mini Swift Final finished with two Energy Corse drivers on the podium. Entered in the very difficult KZ category, Joshua Fife was back in the top ten thanks to remarkable competitiveness, but dropped back to 12th position following a spoiler penalty.  Victory of Daniele Pelizzari at the Industrial Trophy At the end of October at Lonato, Daniele Pelizzari emerged at the front of the KZ2 Final of the very famous Industrial Trophy, which was celebrating its 47th edition. Energy Corse dominated the event, as the other hero of the day was Emil Skaras. Winner of his three heats, then the Prefinal in front of Pelizzari, the Swede led the Final before retiring. Pelizzari took over and won against seasoned opponents. Congratulations also to Isak Sjokvist for his 7th place in KZ2, as well as to the Russian Maxim Soldatov, an excellent 6th in OK-Junior. Great domination by Energy Corse in Mini

In recent weeks, the drivers in Energy Corse colours have mounted podiums in the biggest international events. In mid-October, Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Alex Powell scored a spectacular double at the Rok Cup International Final in the Mini category, with 143 entries! A week later, again at Lonato, Powell climbed on the highest step of the podium at the opening of the WSK Final Cup. More than ever, the performance of the Italian chassis and the way in which Energy Corse trains its drivers are valuable for young people eager to succeed at the highest level.  Double for Energy Corse at the Rok Cup At the Rok Cup International Final, the Energy Corse chassis were particularly well represented in Mini Rok during the Final, in the top 10 and on the podium! Indeed, the Final was fought between Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Alex Powell, who took pole position at the beginning of the meeting. These two drivers had already emerged as leaders of their group in the Qualifying Heats. Antonelli finally won by 48 thousandths against Powell after an extraordinary race. This superb double was completed by the presence of seven other Energy Corse chassis in the Final, with the following results: 9th for the Italian Flavio Olivieri (ASD Revolution Motorsport), 13th for American Morgan Carson, 18th for Jonathan Weywadt, Denmark, 23rd American or Nikita Johnson, 27th for Russian German Foteev, 29th for Latvian Tomas Stolcermanis and 34th for the Australian Marcos Flack. Proof of the beautiful performance of the Energy brand worldwide! In this Final of the Rok Cup, Karol Pasiewicz of Poland (V-Kart Racing Team) finished 3rd in the Mini Trophy and the Swiss Michael Muller (New Technology Team) placed 7th in Shifter. Among the other great performances of the weekend, the Italian Federico Albanese (Energy Corse srl) finished 5th in Junior and his compatriot Giuseppe Gagliano (New Technology Team) 5th in Senior.   A victory to start the WSK Final Cup The Energy Corse team welcomed many drivers during the first of three WSK Final Cup races at Lonato. While there was no success for the young OK-Junior entrants, Alex Powell dominated the 60 Mini Final by leading from start to finish. He had already achieved the feat of winning his Prefinal and his five Qualifying Heats, despite a high number of entries (95) and incessant clashes in this category. American Morgan Carson was further honoured by finishing 9th in the final, while Italy’s Flavio Olivieri (ASD Revolution Motorsport) and Russia’s German Foteev made good gains in the chasing pack. Vice Champion of Italy with Antonelli In 60 Mini, the Italian Championship ended in Ugento. Alex Powell reached the podium in Race 1 and Andrea Kimi Antonelli went for a magnificent win in Race 2 at the wheel of his Energy Corse chassis. A result that earned him to finish vice champion of Italy 2018. Results too in FIA Karting … The big FIA Karting meetings in September also brought great satisfaction to many drivers who trusted the Energy Corse team. At the KZ World Championship in Genk (Belgium), the German Leon Kohler made a good comeback in the Final, before dropping back after a penalty for the spoiler. In the KZ2 International Super Cup, Emil Skaras was consistently among the fastest: 3rd in Qualifying, 4th after the heats with a win and a brilliant 6th in the Final with his Energy Corse-TM Racing. As for the Australian Joshua Fife, he was aiming a top 10 before retiring in the Final. At the OK-Junior World Championship in Kristianstad (Sweden), Loris Cabirou won a coveted spot among the finalists after a great run in Qualifying. Results and ideal training for young drivers

Recognised for its experience in all categories, at every race Energy Corse confirms the effectiveness of its policy of coaching young drivers. Alex Powell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli have recently been impressive in 60 Mini events at the wheel of their Energy-TM package, while Loris Cabirou has shown clear progress in the European OK-Junior Championship. This year, Energy Corse is again involved in many national and international championships, with successive excellent results. June was particularly fruitful for the drivers of the Italian team, supported by the know-how of the technicians under the management of Mick Panigada. Antonelli wins at Sarno and Lonato! On the weekend of 9th and 10th June, Andrea Kimi Antonelli was the best performer of the Italian Championship at Sarno in 60 Mini. The talented Italian came out of the Qualifying Heats in 1st place and confirmed his speed by brilliantly winning Race 1. The duel was back on in Race 2 and Antonelli was 2nd this time, while achieving the fastest lap in the race. Andrea Kimi remains in the title race more than ever. Denmark’s Jonathan Weywadt and Jamaican Alex Powell also led the class, with Alex making a 16-place gain in Race 2.Racing in Rok Junior with the team Revolution Motorsport, Filippo Croccolino achieved an amazing Race 2 moving up from 11th to 1st place. He unfortunately could not keep this victory because of a spoiler penalty. On July 1st, the Italian Championship moved towards its climax at Lonato for Energy. Giuseppe Gagliano celebrated in Rok Senior by winning Race 2 after a great comeback. Better still, three drivers in the colours of Energy Corse were on the podium of Race 2 in 60 Mini: the Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished 1st ahead of the promising Serbian Andrej Petrovic and the Pole Karol Pasiewicz (Revolution Motorsport), which had already finished 2nd in Race 1. Three other Energy chassis finished in the top-15: Flavio Olivieri, Alex Powell and Jonathan Weywadt. Loris Cabirou gets strongerA week later, they were several drivers from Energy Corse racing in the German round of the European OK and OK-Junior Championships: Artem Kosarev, Jamie Day (already excellent at the British round at PFI ), Marcel Kuc and Loris Cabirou. This time it was the French driver who got the best result. Cabirou has never left the top 10 in the Qualifying Heats: 9th in Qualifying and 10th after a great run of 6th, 7th, 5th, 7th and 4th! Unfortunately, Loris was caught in a scramble in the Final where he dropped to 22nd. But the driver from the Energy Corse team has certainly completed his best meeting at this level. Alex Powell on the podium!Energy Corse once again had a great squad at Lonato at the WSK Open Cup from 22nd to 24th June. In OK-Junior, there were no less than four Energy chassis in the Final: Marcel Kuc, Connor Zilisch (Revolution Motorsport) and Jamie Day, back from 28th to 18th place. In KZ2, Alessandro Pelizzari was on the pace of the best and was 14th in this very hot race three weeks before the European Championship. Swede Isak Sjokvist and Irishman Ross Hayes also qualified for the Finals. In 60 Mini, the very promising Alex Powell has shown that he has nothing to envy to the top drivers of the category. Although his team-mate Andrea Kimi Antonelli achieved a clear run in the heats by winning four times, Powell finished 3rd in the intermediate, after his 2nd time in Qualifying and successful heats: 2nd, 3rd, 2nd and 1st! Antonelli and Powell then took the top two places in Prefinal A.The Final was very competitive, with many changes of position. Powell did not let go and had the satisfaction of climbing on the 3rd step of the podium. He also set the absolute best lap of the meeting with 53 “657. Antonelli took 6th place, while Karol Pasiewicz (Revolution Motorsport), Kiril Kutskov and Jonathan Weywadt enlivened the chasing pack on their Energy chassis. Finally, the Energy Corse chassis recently dominated a Russian Super Mini Championship event, with a final treble: 1st Gatich (Prima), 2nd Motveev (Akopov) and 3rd Bhuharcev

Winter Cup, WSK… Podiums come one after the other for Energy Corse

The 23rd edition of the Winter Cup at Lonato, like the WSK Super Master Series at La Conca, was another opportunity to demonstrate that the Energy Corse chassis and the team remain relentless international benchmarks. Very well represented in Lonato in the Finals in all categories, the Energy brand achieved a magnificent double in Mini Rok with the promising Italian Andrea Antonelli and Poland’s Karol Pasiewicz from the team Revolution Motorsport! And at the WSK in 60 Mini, Antonelli took another victory, while the Russian Kirill Kutskov, another member of the factory team, was on the third step of the podium!   A lot of work upstreamIn the paddock as well on the track, the professionalism of the Energy brand pushes the drivers and the technicians to give the best of themselves at each race. This “Energy Power” continued to have its effects in recent weeks. It must be said that the team led by Mick Panigada has perfectly prepared for each of the major international competitions at the beginning of the season. “With races often with more than 300 drivers entered, it’s never easy to stand out from the crowd,” admitted the Italian team manager. “It requires constant work, the ability to adapt to weather conditions as they are changing as was the case this year, but also a constant dialogue with the driver to put him on the road to victory.“ Top places on the podium! In Mini Rok, eight of the nine chassis entered reached the Final of the Winter Cup despite a high number of competitors: 72! Italy’s Andrea Antonelli and Poland’s Karol Pasiewicz were impressive in Qualifying and started the Final with confidence. After a continuous fight, the two Energy chassis crossed the finish line first, with the victory for Andrea ahead of Karol. “The equipment, the assistance and the coaching were perfect, both from the official Energy Corse team and from the Revolution Motorsport team. In general, I want to congratulate all those who defended our colours during the meeting,” rejoiced Mick Panigada. Jamie Day shows off in OK-JuniorIn Lonato, there were also good performances to the credit of the drivers in the other categories. In OK-Junior, Jamie Day has continued to push ahead and has been rewarded for his efforts with a remarkable comeback to 13th place in the Final. The UAE driver certainly does not lack talent, as confirmed by his two top-six finishes in the heats with a fastest lap. Although the Russian Roman Shaparov experienced a weekend to forget, the young Italian Michael Paparo succeeded in his delicate mission to qualify for the Final, where he placed 23rd. In OK, the Irishman Ross Hayes was close to taking his place among the finalists, just like the Swede Isac Sjokvist in KZ2. The latter can however congratulate himself for having gained 30 places from Qualifying, from 66th to 36th place. While the Russian Kochev Konstantin has accumulated experience in KZ2 alongside 94 starters, Emil Skaras and Joshua Fife did not falter in the Super Heat. The Swede and the Australian managed to join the group of finalists. Skaras finished 24th overall, just ahead of Fife, up seven places. Another victory in 60 MiniAfter the snowy episode the WSK Super Master Series round at Lonato, competitors found better conditions for the continuation of the WSK at La Conca in southern Italy. When the grip became more significant, the chassis still met the expectations of the drivers. In 60 Mini, Andrea Antonelli was imperial, taking the lead of the competition at the end of the heats, before confirming in his Prefinal as well as in the Final. Overall, there were four drivers from the Energy Corse team in the top 10: the Russian Kirill Kutskov 3rd, the Australian Marcos Flack 8th and the Belgian Ean Eyckmans 9th! With Valentin Turenkov, Matheus Carvalho and Karol Pasiewicz, that made a total of seven Energy chassis qualified for the Final. The results for Energy Corse were completed by the 16th and 24th places for Loris Cabirou and Jak Crawford in OK-Junior, as well as the 16th and 19th places for Joshua Fife and Isac Skojvist in KZ2, Emil Skaras having had to give up. Energy at the top in the United StatesThe work of the Energy Corse America structure continues to bear fruit in North America. In addition to the good results achieved in the IAME categories at the Winter Series, the Florida Winter Tour ended on a positive note in Orlando as part of the Rok Cup USA. In Junior, Luca Mars placed 5th overall, while Hugh Templeman entered the top ten in Shifter Master. In Mini, Alex Powell and Diego Laroque created a nice group shot in the 4th and 5th positions, while Paul Bocuse was highlighted by placing 4th in the event at Ocala. In Micro finally, Danny Dyszelski continues his brilliant results: 2nd in Ocala as well as Orlando, he wins the title of 2018 Vice Champion in this series! In Italy and around the world, teams in the colours of Energy Corse are already setting out to conquer new results

Energy Corse ready to take up the challenges of 2018

The offseason has been busy at Energy Corse with the CIK-FIA homologation of the new “Space” chassis for the 2018-2020 period and the launch of production. The first tests began in January and racing even resumed before the start of February at Adria. The competitiveness is already there within Mick Panigada’s team with very good performances in the two WSK Promotion events.  Known for many years as an excellent talent developer, Energy Corse has recruited a young Italian leader in his 60 Mini apprenticeship in Andrea Kimi Antonelli, in the tradition of Dorian Boccolacci and Juan Manuel Correa, supported in their time by the Lotus F1 Junior Team under the competition structure of Energy. An early virtuoso noticed by the Mercedes AMG F1 Team, Andrea Kimi embodies the new generation of future champions determined to shine later in motorsport. He has already used all his skill at the service of his new team during the winter tests before being rewarded for his efforts during the WSK Champions Cup at the end of January on the Adria Karting Raceway. After taking pole position, he took three victories in the Qualifying Heats and has won in both the Prefinal and Final to give Energy Corse their first success of the season. During this event, the Pole Karol Paciewicz of the Team Revolution Motorsport also achieved successes at the wheel of his Energy chassis, in the top three of the heats, then 2nd in his Prefinal. He finished 4th with the fastest lap in the race. The Energy brand was one of the best represented in the 60 Mini category where it placed three chassis in the top 10.  Emil Skaras was on fire in KZ2, 2nd fastest in Qualifying, leader of the heats and winner of the Prefinal. The Final was not as good and he had to settle for 10th place while Australian Joshua Fife was 8th. A week later, the weather played tricks on the competitors of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series. The grip was constantly changing in the rain on Friday and Saturday, and the return of the sun Sunday changed the game again. The temperatures remained cold throughout the weekend, subjecting the equipment and the drivers to a tough test. Antonelli only set the 22nd time of the 60 Mini timed practice, but scored three wins in the heats. Victim of an incident on the first lap of the Prefinal, he was unable to qualify despite all his determination and the efficiency of his Energy / TM. Already brilliant the week before, the Australian Marcos Flack had good performances in the heats and returned to 7th in the Prefinal as the first of the four Energy qualifiers. In OK-Junior, the newcomers continued their discovery of the equipment with various fortunes in these difficult conditions. Only Loris Cabirou reached the Final, Michael Barbaro Paparo and Jamie Dasing their qualification. Uncomfortable after several problems, Emil Skaras was close to the top 10 KZ2, and Isac Skjovist was happy to reach the finish while Joshua Fife gave up in the battle at the very beginning of the race. As always led by Simone Sorio and Luigina Guerrini, the technical staff continue to work hard to develop in anticipation of weather conditions more in line with the spirit of karting competition. All of Team Energy Corse will be attacking at the next meeting at Lonato, for one of the most famous races of the season, the Winter Cup. The season begins in America tooDarren White, Team Manager of Energy Corse North America, can be proud of the first results of the year. The Energy drivers shone in Miami (Homestead) in the first round of the SKUSA Winter Series with 2nd place for Connor Zilisch (Felon team) in Mini Swift, and his Palm Beach win in Mini Rok in the first round of the Rok Cup USA. Diego Laroque (Energy Corse North America team) and Alex Powell (Speed Concepts team) completed the success of Energy Corse in 3rd and 4th places. Zilisch and Powell are in the top two places of the Rok Cup
