Johansson and Energy poised to conquer the European Championship

Both fast and technical, the Zuera circuit clearly highlighted the performance of the Energy-TMs at the second round of the European KZ2 Championship. In Spain, the Italian Energy Corse team placed its two drivers Joel Johansson and Sean Babington in the top 10, the Swede even finishing his superb performance on the 2nd step of the podium. Good work! Energy Corse continues to export its know-how, experience and highly professional structure to all of the circuits that the team of Mick Panigada visits during the seasons. Used to fighting for the top positions in every European KZ2 Championship, he didn’t fail in his mission on 23rd and 24th May in Zuera. In timed qualifying, Joel Johansson and Sean Babington respectively took 3rd and 9th fastest times. Johansson confirmed with two wins and no problems in the heats, helping him to 4th place in the prefinal. A deserved podiumThere was a superb duel in the final between the leading men. Thanks to an effective and consistent Energy chassis, Johansson fought to the end to clinch 2nd place, with the second fastest lap. “In Italy, it was a shame to miss the podium after having progressed. This time I was able to achieve it, it’s nice and a great reward for all the hard work by the team.” The Swede moved directly to 2nd place in the provisional classification of the European Championship, before the planned conclusion in July at Genk (Belgium). As for Sean Babington, he alternated with very good results in the heats with two superb second places, but also suffered two retirements. He took advantage of Sunday to move up the hierarchy. He gained nine places and finished 13th in the prefinal and progressed to the 7th position in the final. First encouraging points for the British driver! Young drivers full of EnergySeveral very positive results have been added to Energy Corse’s CV in recent weeks. The 2015 WSK Super Master Series ended with a beautiful formation finish in the final standings of the 60 Mini category: 2nd place for Mattia Muller, 5th for Mattia Michelotto and 8th for Francesco Crescente through the work of Noviello Engine and Giugliano Kart. Both teams were also highlighted at the opening round of the Italian Championship in Triscina: there was a double in Mini for Biagia Ruvolo ahead of Mattia Michelotto and victory for Stefano Cucco in KF in Race 1. At the German Championship at Wackersdorf, the Danish team TK Racing shone with the Energy brand: Patricija Stalidzane was ahead in the qualifying heats in KF Kunior, before running out of luck in the first final. But in KF, Nicolai Kjaergaard took 3rd in the two finals with great skill. The Energy Corse team was less successful in the European Championship at Portimao (Portugal). After a spectacular comeback, the Spaniard David Vidales was due on the KF-Junior podium before a collision for which his rival was held responsible. The American Juan Correa finished his final in 11th position after moving up 10

Always count on Energy Corse in KZ2

Energy Corse remains one of the most successful teams in recent years on the international scene, especially in KZ2. Each year the team, managed masterfully by Mick Panigada, is on the lookout to fight for the European Championship title in this always popular category and has been very well rewarded (five crowns since 2004). In 2015, this event began in Italy in Sarno, where the Swede Joel Johansson was a candidate for the podium … With all five heats completed in the top four, including a 2nd place with the fastest lap, Joel Johansson seemed confident after the qualifying heats. “I know the Energy Corse team, and it always impresses me with its perfect organisation and standard of equipment preparation,” enthused the talented Swede at the opening of the European Championship. At the foot of Vesuvius, Johansson continued his magnificent performance in the prefinal, where he held on to his 5th place. “I was ideally placed on the inside in the final, but an opponent pushed me on the first lap, dropping me to the back. Although the driver was given a penalty, it is sad to lose the opportunity to fight for the podium,” lamented the Energy Corse driver. Babington from Rotax to KZ2The benchmark in the Rotax Senior and DD2 in recent years, the Briton Sean Babington is learning KZ2 with great verve. Running with the Energy UAE team Babington benefited from the advice from the factory team at Sarno. “Despite his lack of experience of the class, Sean finished all his heats in the top 10 and easily qualified for the finals. He has great potential,” said team manager Mick Panigada. While he was close to the top 10 in the final after gaining 10 places and posting excellent lap times, he was unfortunately forced to retire. A successful Margutti TrophyThe Energy Corse brand also shines in many other events and many other countries. At the last Andrea Margutti Trophy for example, Spain’s David Vidales confirmed his growing strength and the performance of his Energy-TM to take 3rd place in KF-Junior. His Danish teammate Frederik Vesti finished a few lengths behind in 6th position. As for the Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska, he took an encouraging 8th in KF. The Energy chassis were equally competitive in 60 Mini with 4th and 5th places for Francesco Crescente (Noviello Engine) and Mattia Michelotto (Giugliano Kart). Also in this category, Mattia Muller (Noviello Engine) was on the podium at the third round of the WSK Master Series Super at La

Energy Corse: solid reasons to shine in 2015

The 2015 karting season has just started and the Energy drivers have already made their mark in the international competitions. Technical and human innovations abound early this year, but the qualities of Michele Panigada’s team that have propelled it to the top for over 10 years are the foundation for the continued success of the Italian brand at the highest level. Recently homologated, the 2015 Energy chassis is again well-designed to enable drivers to take top billing and to continue to add to the prestigious list of results. The hard work of the entire team, whose professionalism is widely recognized, its undeniable technical expertise, combined with a human framework and careful oversight, ensure the enviable position of Energy Corse among the greatest teams in international karting. “As with every start of the season, the drivers need to assimilate the new parameters of competition,” says Michele Panigada. “The 2015 line-up has no shortage of new blood as in addition to newcomers, in KF we have drivers who have taken the plunge from KF-Junior. I also want to say that our collaboration with the young Petr Ptacek has been very positive. Various reasons, such as leaving the Lotus F1 Junior Team, explained his change of direction, but the deal has always been excellent between the two parties.“ Juan Correa and Rokas Baciuska have performed very well at the wheels of their Energy-TMs for their debut in KF. Bacisuka focused on achieving a promising 5th place in the final of the WSK Champions Cup at La Conca, while Correa finished eighth in the championship. The American finished the Winter Cup at Lonato in 7th, while the Lithuanian recovered strongly close to the top 10. The potential is there for his talents, which are just waiting to be confirmed in future competitions. In KF-Junior, the Spaniard David Vidales has already showed interesting progress by finishing 7th in the WSK Gold Cup and 6th in the WSK Super Master Series at Adria, while the Dane Frederik Vesti had been prominent earlier at La Conca. The Slovak Dominik Goldschmied is learning the fundamentals of the category quickly and should soon join his teammates in the top rankings. Hope also comes from the youngest drivers with good scores achieved in 60 Mini from Mattia Michelotto and Mattia Muller who took a double victory at Adria in the WSK Super Master Series, as well as Francesco Crescente, who was 4th in the Winter Cup in Mini Rok. Energy chassis are also very competitive in other categories, as evidenced by the excellent 3rd place finish in DD2 for Oriol Dalmau, an Energy Spain driver, at the Rotax Winter Cup at Campillos and in the triumph for Christian Brooks – NASH Motorsportz – in the SKUSA California Prokart Challenge at Willow Kart where he won both heats and the final in TaG Senior. Everything looks very good for Energy Corse in 2015. The team will expand further for the important events that are coming soon: WSK Super Master Series and the CIK-FIA European Championship. Innovations are certain throughout the season, such as the new KF front brakes, which are lighter and more efficient, recently tested by Correa at

Podiums throughout Europe for Energy

In addition to recent brilliant performances during the world event at Sarno, and the WSK Final Cup in Rovigo, Adria, the Energy brand has been prominent everywhere in Europe: Spanish Champions with David Vidales, 3rd place in the 2014 Italian Championship with Francesco Celenta, a podium during the last round of the German Championship at Genk with Juan Correa and a top three in the French Endurance Championship with the GTL Competition team, among others. With a few days to go until the Supernationals in Las Vegas, Energy Corse can already claim a positive balance from the last season … Top 5 for Celenta at SarnoThe reigning champions with Dorian Boccolacci, the Energy Corse team arrived at Sarno for the KZ2 International Super Cup with very competitive equipment. Held up in Lithuania after a victory at Wackersdorf and 3rd place in the European Championship, Simas Juodvirsis unfortunately had to forfeit the event. Ranked 3rd in the Italian Championship in 2014, Francesco Celenta (ASD LG Motorsport) was responsible for representing the Italian brand worthily. His fastest lap in the final showed that he would have had a place on the podium, but the problems he encountered in the heats relegated him to 30th position on Saturday night. He gained 12 places in the prefinal and then completed a remarkable rise of 13 places to take fifth in the final. The Australian Jason Faint was also driving an Energy-TM in Italy. Correa succeeds at AdriaRanked 4th overall with four podiums including a win, Juan Correa was one of the major players in the German Championship in 2014, and also in the recent WSK Final Cup that concluded the European season on the international circuit Rovigo-Adria. Third after qualifying, Correa retained his position after the heats, with two fourth places and a win. Despite a difficult prefinal, the driver racing in the colours of the Lotus F1 Junior Team gained five places and finished fifth at the chequered flag. A few days earlier, Correa was on the second step of the podium in the Race of Stars in Australia! With regards to the other Energy chassis entered at Adria, Alessio Guazzaroni took 13th in the difficult category of KF and most especially there was 4th in Mini 60 for the young David Vidales, who was recently crowned Spanish Champion on the Energy Cadet chassis. Also in this Championship were Javier Belman, 5th in Alevin, and Javier Cobian 4th in KZ2. While the new Energy chassis for 2015 is pending homologation by the CIK-FIA, preparation for next season has already begun for the team managed by Mick Panigada. Whatever the category, Energy Corse is still a good choice in

Energy continues to develop drivers

More than ever, the Energy Corse team is looking towards the future, to ensure progress for its drivers and get them to the top. The World KF and KF-Junior Championships held in France were another example. On the Essay-Aunay les Bois circuit, no less than seven young drivers trusted the Italian Energy chassis, with a number of encouraging performances … The rise of Ross Martin in KF-JuniorWith two podium finishes, including a victory, in the last two rounds of the German Championship, Juan Correa arrived at Essay full of ambition. Driving his Energy-TM, he performed brilliantly throughout the World meeting in KF-Junior. The American, a member of the Lotus F1 Junior Team, unfortunately had a difficult last qualifying heat and then had to make up for lost time. Despite his successful prefinal with the fastest lap and a gain of seven places in the final, he could do no better than 16th in a very lively pack. In this category of young drivers, the expertise of the Energy Corse team allowed the Briton Ross Martin and the Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska to be among the 34 finalists, out of 89 starters! Baciuska gained seven places to finish 20th, while Martin drove an attacking race to move from 31st to 10th. Encouraging for his first race on his new Energy! Top-10 for Roes AndersenThe Dane Casper Roes Andersen (Energy-TM) was one of the heroes of the KF-Junior World Championship, with his 2nd place in qualifying and his 7th place in the heats. This was the same position he finished in the final, where he superbly gained 18 places after a complicated prefinal. He also set the fastest lap. The Spaniard Xavier Brunet Lloveras and Dane Julius Lassen (TK Racing) had the opportunity to gain experience and to develop in this particularly high standard of global competition. A Australian full of ambitionPerfectly prepared by the Energy Corse team, the Australian Josh Tynan learned about the the difficulty of a World Championship in the best conditions. At Aunay les Bois, Tynan improved steadily, gaining many places in the heats. In the repechage, everything was still possible, but a skirmish at the start ruined his last hope. “We arrived in France with a team of young and inexperienced drivers, although they were highly motivated. All gave their best and the technical team was able to celebrate the progress made by each. We are pleased to put two Energy chassis in the top 10 in KF-Junior and I think Juan Correa had the potential to do the same,” said team manager Mick Panigada, who now has an eye on the International Super Cup for KZ2 at Sarno in October

Energy and Juodvirsis ahead in the European Championship

The performance, professionalism and responsiveness of the Energy Corse team, combined with the talent of its drivers, made the difference at Wackersdorf in the European Championship. In Germany, Simas Juodvirsis (Energy-Maxter) achieved a first class result and took the top spot in KZ2. The Energy brand remains a real winning machine, always at the front at all levels of competition. Already on the second step of the podium in the German Championship round in late June at Wackersdorf, Simas Juodvirsis and the Energy Corse team accumulated valuable technical information which they used on their return to the same German circuit on 12th and 13th July when the European Championship continued. In qualifying, the Energy drivers showcased the brand. Respectively, Simas Juodvirsis, Ricardo Romkema and Michele Di Martino (Energy Germany) took several top five finishes in heats. Unfortunately, a few racing incidents deprived them of a better place on the starting grid for the final despite real competitiveness on the dry track at Wackersdorf. Indeed, Juodvirsis consistently ran at the pace of the leaders, while Romkema set the fastest lap! Optimal technical choicesA shower suddenly fell on Bavaria, just before the start of the KZ2 final. Although the inevitable jostling in the early laps ruined the hopes of Romkema and Di Martino, Juodvirsis took an imperial control. “The track was very wet when the drivers set off, but the ambient temperature caused a gradual drying of the line,” commented the technical team of Energy Corse. “It was really important to make the right choices in terms of chassis set-up and, more importantly, identify good tyre pressures.“Experienced and renowned for its responsiveness, the Energy Corse team and the Lithuanian driver showed great skill on the track … Starting on 13th position on the grid, he was in the top ten at the start, before moving forward with magnificent overtaking. Other candidates for victory could only be defeated by Juodvirsis and his Energy-Maxter, and he crossed the finishing line with a huge lead over the chasing pack.“With the points at Genk and this victory at Wackersdorf, I am in the lead of the European Championship,” admitted Simas. “This is fantastic! A big thank you to the Energy Corse team, it is promising for the second part of the season.“ Simas Juodvirsis and Energy Corse remain focused on continuing to ride the wave of success. As for Mick Panigada’s team, they will continue their efforts for all the other drivers in the Energy colours

Energy on course for the podium

Race after race, Energy Corse confirms its membership of the small circle of major international teams. Each new event is an opportunity for the Italian team to demonstrate its expertise, its polished presentation and the high quality of its equipment. The start of the European Championships in recent weeks have again highlighted the potential of the drivers and their management, with several podiums to celebrate! The European Championship, WSK, Italian Championship, German Championship, Rotax National Championships, preparation testing … Energy Corse has been working on all fronts since the beginning of the season to propel the drivers to peak performance whatever the difficulties. “Every season is different and no race is like any other, so karting requires constant questioning and Energy Corse has the experience to adapt to any situation,” says Mick Panigada, the team manager. “This year, for example, the tyres are different from what we have experienced before. Similarly, the engine requires adjustments. Development work has been relentless in recent months, so we are always ready to meet our goals in order to grow our list of results even further.“ Double top-3 in KZ2 at La ConcaMay started well, with a podium in KF for Egor Stupenkov and Dominik Schmidt in KZ2 during a round of the German Championship. Unfortunately, success has not always been possible in the European KF and KF-Junior Championships, for the American Juan Correa, the Italian Leonardo Pulcini, the Romanian Rokas Baciuška or the German Moritz Horn. Energy quickly renewed the brand with the podium for Francesco Celenta in the Italian KZ2 Championship at La Conca. He took the pole position, retained the leadership in the heats, before finishing third and second in the finals. The title is already in sight! A magnificent rise for JuodvirsisOn 13th, 14th and 15th June, Energy Corse was at Genk in Belgium for the opening of the European KZ2 Championship. The Champion in 2012 in Energy colours, the Lithuanian Simas Juodvirsis set off to attack for the title. His performances did not go unnoticed, as Juodvirsis fought for the lead in the pre-final 1, when he got caught up and dropped to midfield. In the final, he achieved the most beautiful climb, with a gain of 24 places to reach 5th place! Laying 4th in the standings in the European Championship, he has every chance to contest the title in the coming races. Ricardo Romkema’s final – although he qualified 6th – was disrupted by too many incidents, while Michele Di Martino (Energy Germany) ended up back in 13th position just ahead of Dominik Schmidt. The potential is there

Focus on Energy for victory

Every year, Energy Corse is one of the most successful teams on the international scene. For this new 2014 season, Energy remains faithful to the concepts that built it’s success: seriousness, professionalism, expertise, high-performance equipment, logical technical choices, perfect general presentation and the ideal environment for the driver. As the team gets used to the situation at the beginning of each year, the build up to each race has started and the initial results are already there. Since the Winter Cup and the different WSK events, the work has been successful and no doubt the Energy marque will progress at the front of the field at the beginning of the big CIK-FIA international races. KF: Two top-5s for Stupenkov Winner of the two main WSK series’ in 2013 (Euro and Master), the Energy Corse team set off to attack the track. At the Champions Cup, the excellent Russian driver Egor Stupenkov came close. Ranked 7th on March 2nd and 4th on March 9th, he finished a brilliant 5th place overall. The performance was also there for the meeting in the rain at Sarno with a remarkable rise from 15th to 5th position at the opening of the WSK Super Master Series. This event allowed his teammate Moritz Horn to demonstrate his progress. The German was in the top 10 after qualifying! Also note the 7th place for the Danish driver Nikolai Kjargaard (TK Racing) at a round of the Champions Cup at La Conca. KF-Junior: The performance increases Whether with the official Energy Corse team drivers or those of its quality distributors in Europe (Gandolfi Racing Team, Germany Energy, Energy Sweden or TK Racing in Denmark), the Italian brand has achieved brilliant results. As well as taking pole position at the WSK Super Master Series at Sarno, the Brazilian Giuliano Raucci also finished 6th in the Winter Cup in Lonato. A position also occupied by the Danish driver Casper Roes in the final of the WSK Champions Cup at La Conca. Winner of the 2013 Junior Rotax World Final, the American Juan Correa has begun to learn about KF-Junior. He is now very close to the best in terms of performance, yet demonstrating the merits of the support for young drivers that is the Energy Corse policy. As for the German David Beckman, he started his new collaboration with Energy with an encouraging 7th place in the Super Master series at Sarno. Energy the benchmark in KZ Energy has always been popular with drivers. At the Winter Cup, Energy was the third most represented brand in the paddock and several of them were running in KZ. Driving their competitive Energy-TMs, Ricardo Romkema and Nicola Marcon frequently knocked on the door of the lead pack, which included the best drivers in the world. Climbing into the top-10 in this context is a step towards the first victory. Expect confirmation at the European Championship … Rotax: Success in the UK and Spain As the official supplier of chassis at the 2013 World Final in New Orleans in the United States (Junior Rotax), Energy has a high-performance chassis in Rotax. On the Wigan (England) circuit, the Sam Pollitt Racing team has made a real coup by taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in most coveted Senior Rotax Max category. In the Rotax DD2 Championship at Zuera in Spain, Javier Rodelas took pole position at the wheel of his Energy chassis, before winning the first race of the series. A Healthy Dose of Energy before Winter

After a season full of excellent sporting results, with a long series of victories, Energy distinguished itself around the globe in November. In Europe, at the WSK Final Cup, Dorian Boccolacci climbed again onto the KF podium. In the US, Energy took on the challenge of providing its chassis to 72 Max Junior drivers at the 14th edition of the Rotax Grand Finals. Finally, its journey to Bahrain, in the Middle East, ended with several top-10 places for the Energy Corse team. The Energy company can definitely start the winter period with serenity and prepare for 2014 under the best auspices, after demonstrating again all its know-how and professionalism. Its results at the end of the season are proof of it… WSK Final CupCooperation was perfect between Dorian Boccolacci and the Energy Corse team during a season marked by an incredible series of victories and podiums, as is rarely seen in the same sporting year. Just a few weeks after winning the last round of the German Championship (DKM) at Genk, the driver wearing the F1 Junior Team racing suit brilliantly conquered a second place in the WSK Final Cup at Castelletto. This major international meeting also saw the Dutch driver Ricardo Romkema rank 4th in KZ2, though he had just discovered his new Energy-TM kart. Rotax Grand FinalsThe famous Rotax brand gave Energy proof of its confidence by entrusting it with the supply of chassis for the “Rotax Grand Finals” in the Max Junior (13-16 years) class. The Italian company sent over 70 chassis to New Orleans, since this event took place in the USA. Many drivers expressed their appreciation for the qualities and performance of the Italian karts on a very difficult circuit such as Nola Motorpark. The intensity of the final race confirmed how effective and uniform in terms of performance Energy chassis were, with the first five drivers of the final all passing in less than one second under the chequered flag! Representatives of the company also congratulated Simas Juodvirsis, who was an Energy driver in 2013, on his brilliant victory in Rotax DD2. World Championship in BahrainDorian Boccolacci played an active role on the circuit of Bahrain, which is close to the one used for the F1 Grand Prix. In KF, the French driver from Energy Corse conquered pole and kept his leadership at the end of the qualifying phase. He was constantly in the lead pack during the final phase, but unfortunately suffered some problems during the race and lost a few positions. Then he climbed up to 7th and managed to enter again the final top 10 of the World Championship. The Russian Egor Stupenkov and the Brazilian Giuliano Raucci – who took an excellent 6th place in KF-Junior – also entered the final top 10. Congratulations to all engine preparers and technicians who contributed to these successful
