Energy Corse win the IAME and Rok Cup Finals!

A long standing developer of talent, the Energy Corse team has helped launch the career of many drivers. Some of them are now on the verge of entering Formula 1. Although the search for the best performance and the development of the equipment is incessant, the training of young people is not forgotten within the Italian team. After the competitiveness displayed in the CIK-FIA races, the Energy chassis achieved more top performances, this time in the International Finals of the IAME X30 and Rok Cup Challenges. While Brent Crews won the X30 Mini Final at the Le Mans circuit, Connor Zilisch celebrated his success at Lonato in Mini Rok, in a category of 162 drivers! More than 1000 kilometres separate Le Mans from Lonato, but one point in common was gathering them on the weekend of 14th and 15th October, 2017: it was enough to look at the front of the field to find the Energy Corse chassis in the Mini classes reserved for young drivers: two chassis in the top four in Italy and three in the top six in France. With the victory in both cases! The rigour, professionalism and knowledge of Energy Corse still paid off. “It’s all about a lot of little things,” commented team manager Mick Panigada. “At Energy, we leave nothing to chance! As for these excellent results at Lonato and Le Mans, they are also the consequence of our strong partnerships with the Energy Corse teams and distributors all over the world, in the United States especially, in view of the successes of Zilisch and Crews in Rok and X30.“ Rok Cup: Energy chassis complete the race in the lead With 166 drivers at the start and identical Vortex Mini Rok engines for all, it was not easy to make the difference, to qualify for the Finals, to reach the podium and if possible the top step. At the end of a superb duel in the leading group the three Energy chassis of the Polish Karol Pasiewicz, Americans Luca Mars and Connor Zilisch, the former crossed the line 1st, before being penalised for a non-compliant spoiler position. Zilisch recovered the victory after a finely-honed Final. Thanks to a magnificent gain of 10 places, Luca Mars finished 4th. Although Karol Pasiewicz (V-Kart Racing Team) was demoted to 8th, the Russian Maksim Soldatov returned to 13th, bringing the number of Energy chassis in the top 15 to four! There was also Matteo De Palo (ASD Giugliano Kart) in the Final and Russia’s competitive Andrey Zhivnov, who was unlucky at Lonato.  IAME X30: Americans full of Energy With Ugo Ugochukwu and Brent Crews, the Energy chassis dominated the IAME International Final at Le Mans in the X30 Mini. The former won two races out of three and started on pole in the Prefinal, then it was Crews who won the Final, starting in pole position. Ugochukwu missed out in the “slow” procedure that started at the halfway point, which probably left him without a podium. But after his victory at the IAME International Open at Castelletto in April, Ugo Ugochukwu won the 2017 X30 Mini Cup, awarded for the aggregation of both races. At Le Mans, there was a second driver in Energy Corse colours in 3rd position, with Estonian Patrick Hakala (Dan Holland Racing). Despite his young age (nine years), Jimmy Helias has fully exploited the qualities of his equipment to return to 6th. There was less success on the other hand for Estonian Ken Oskar Algre, who was excellent in Qualifying. With 10 chassis entered, the Italian brand was also the best represented, proof of its attractive and efficient attributes, constantly highlighted by several teams and drivers in the X30 Mini category. Top six for Van Leeuwen in KZ2 After a season in which he was often featured with his Energy-TM package, the Dutchman Martijn Van Leeuwen was one of the most prominent drivers at the 2017 CIK-FIA International Super Cup at Wackersdorf. Constantly in the top five in each of his six qualifying heats, he completed a superb Final to finish 6th. This last part of the season was also marked by the performance of the Energy Corse team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Karting (CIK-FIA Endurance Championship), contested with Parilla OK engines. For its first official entry, the Italian team was placed 5th with Joel Johansson, Marco Signoretti, Ross Hayes and Tony Lavanant, thanks to a steady and consistent

Worldwide performance for Energy Corse

Energy Corse is continuing its podium progression around the world. In Asia, Russia, the United States, Australia and of course in its Italian homeland and in many other European countries, this famouschassis brand increases its status every week in the four corners of the world, in classes as different as KZ, X30, OK or even Briggs and Stratton! Proof of the quality of the distributors and teams that represent Energy Corse with passion, skills and dynamism throughout the season. Meanwhile, the factory team continues to compete at the highest international level, with performances higher still, as the recent Scandinavian event in July has demonstrated…  The Energy Corse European campaign ended with another podium finish in Sweden in KZ2, thanks to Martijn Van Leeuwen’s brilliant race in very difficult conditions. On a slippery track, the drivers were using slick tyres and the Dutch team knew exactly how to react to this unprecedented situation at Kristianstad. Van Leeuwen had already distinguished himself in qualifying by placing in the top five in each of his four heats. Already ranked 4th in May in Belgium and again in the points at Le Mans at the beginning of July, he is now back in 6th place in the final ranking of the 2017 KZ2 European Championship. Sweden’s Isack Sjokvist also made his presence felt, bouncing back from Qualifying. Théo Nouet, 2nd in SwedenThroughout the European OK Championship, Théo Nouet demonstrated that he was one of the top rookies in this extremely competitive category. He had two excellent races on his long trip to Scandinavia after climbing onto the second podium of the Summer Cup in Kristianstad, Sweden on 16th July. He also showed off in Finland in the European Championship. On the difficult circuit of Alahärmä, he gained 10 places in the Final to register points for 8th place. The World events are coming into viewAt the European OK-Junior Championship, the young Russian Kirill Smal, who was still racing in 60 Mini in 2016, again gained experience in his first season at this level. His team-mate Frederik Kikkenborg confirmed his progress by gaining 16 places at Le Mans and 11 at Kristianstad on his Swedish home territory. “The first part of the season was long, but it brought us a lot of satisfaction and confirmation of the performance of our equipment,” said Mick Panigada, the team manager. “Energy Corse has always welcomed young drivers and strives to make progress every year. There will be plenty of room in our awning at the World Championships in Wackersdorf and PFI, whether in the categories with or without gearboxes. We are ready for these important deadlines, as are our engine manufacturers and our various partners. I would also like to congratulate and thank all the drivers and teams who wear our colours. My Facebook page is full of messages about the performance of our chassis around the world. That drives us to always do our

Energy Corse on the podium

A well-known international karting team, Energy Corse has been present at the highest level of the competition for many years. In 2017, the Italian structure has been further expanded and prepared to face the toughest challenges with its promising team of drivers. The first events of the season have already confirmed this in every category … Between the World Championship in Bahrain in November and the WSK Champions Cup in Adria in late January, the off-season was very short for the international karting competitors. At Energy Corse, it has been invaluable in implementing a new strategy, but also to improve all the little details that make a difference at major events. Whether loyal since last year or newcomers, the drivers of the Energy Corse team will continue to benefit from a high quality technical staff, as well as partnerships with engine manufacturers and benchmark engine brands. Arrival of Finlay Kenneally in OK The European Champion in OK-Junior of 2016, Finlay Kenneally now races under the colours of Energy. The Briton has already made a name for himself by making two superb lifts: from 20th to 9th place at the WSK Super Master Series in the rain at Adria, then from 16th to 8th place at the Winter Cup in Lonato, this time in the dry. His team-mate Théo Nouet – also from Junior – had less success in the final stages, despite very interesting potential. A place among the top eight was virtually secured at the Winter Cup before an unfortunate race incident. Also on Energy-Vortex, Dominik Goldschmied was aiming for a place in the Final, but an retirement in a heat put paid to his ambitions.   Great performance in Mini The young drivers racing with Energy Corse in 60 Mini in the WSK races or in Mini Rok in the Winter Cup gained much attention. For example Bray Kenneally (Finlay’s brother), came out leader of the qualifying heats. The first row of the Final was 100% Energy including the Russian Dmitry Ignatov of the team Giuliano Kart. Although a scramble deprived Kenneally of a podium, Ignatov finished a brilliant 3rd in front of his team-mate Andrey Zhivnov.Julius Dinesen, Ugo Ugochukwu and Cenyu Han are also in full progression and have been noticed on numerous occasions during this early season. At the WSK, Han finished 15th in the Champions Cup and 11th in the Super Master Series! At Energy Corse, we also note the very encouraging performances of the Russian Kirill Smal in OK-Junior (11th in the Winter Cup) and Martijn Van Leeuwen in the WSK Super Master Series. For his debut with Energy, the Dutchman climbed up from 27th to 9th place, before being penalised for his spoiler. Success in the USA and Australia A driver from the Energy North America team, Luca Mars was one of the most prominent drivers at the Florida Winter Tour meetings. 1st at Homestead and 2nd at Palm Beach, he is the leader of the championship in Mini Rok. Mars also finished 2nd in Mini Max at Homestead. In Rotax DD2, Marco Signoretti climbed to the second step of the podium in Palm Beach with his Energy chassis. Energy Corse also made it to Australia with Tom Williamson and Joshua Fife, 2nd in the first event of the Australian KZ

Negro joins Energy for the KZ2 Super Cup in Sweden

As is often said by Mick Panigada, the head of Energy Corse “KZ2 is one of the most popular categories in the world. All of the major brands are represented, there are always a lot of drivers, the equipment is extremely competitive and it is a great pride for us to be a regular at the forefront of this international category for over 10 years.”  The wins by the Energy brand in KZ2 were the source of its reputation by giving it a place among the big names of international karting. Since 2003, the Italian team has been rewarded with 15 podiums in European competitions and no less than seven European Championship including that of Paolo De Conto in the premier class, KZ1, in 2011. Over the seasons, Energy had expanded its remit to all categories, Mini, Junior and Senior, winning numerous international victories. The quality of the blue Energy chassis combined with the experience of a highly structured professional team ensured the brand’s sporting success in Europe as well as America, Asia and the Middle East. KZ2, however, always had a special place at Energy Corse. From 2013, the CIK-FIA International Super Cup was created for KZ2, a worldwide event taking over from the old World Cups. Since its first edition, Energy was 1st with the incredible victory by Dorian Boccolacci on his debut in the category. Francesco Celenta then returned to the top five in 2014 and Joel Johansson climbed on the second step of the podium in 2015 in addition to his European title. An experienced driver, and specialist in 125 gearbox, the Italian Riccardo Negro will defend the Energy colours this year at the next KZ2 International Super Cup which will take place at the Kristianstad track from 2nd to 4th September 2016. Negro has won many races in KZ2 and the most outstanding feat remains his 3rd place at the 2012 World Cup and winning the WSK Euro Series Championship in 2013. It is with great pleasure that Energy Corse announced his commitment to the official team in Sweden, driving an Energy / TM of course! But before that, the 2016 European Championship will reach its denouement at Genk at the end of July. Already on the podium of the WSK Super Master Series, “Alex” currently ranks 3rd in the European competition and will play a beautiful card on the Belgian circuit by applying the currency of Energy Corse: Full

Energy Corse: Spirit of conquest!

The Energy Corse team continues to excel in training young drivers, equipment preparation and technical decisions. The recent performances on the international scene prove it, with the podium obtained by “Alex” in the final classification of the WSK Super Master Series. The Italian karts were also fighting at the front in the 60 Mini category, without forgetting the other podiums in Asia, the United Arab Emirates and Canada…  WSK: A brilliant progression for Alex in KZ2 “Alex” was one of the most consistent drivers at the front of the pack in KZ2 in the WSK Super Master Series. Already on the podium at the opening round at Castelletto, he then scored many top positions at the following races. Overall, he finished in a brilliant 3rd place at the wheel of his Energy-TM. OK-Junior: Noticeable improvement for Nouet Countless Junior drivers have trained by Mick Panigada’s team with a number of successes for over 10 years. At Adria, the Frenchman Theo Nouet confirmed his progress in the very tough OK-Junior class. On the pace right from the time trials, he didn’t always see success later on, but finished 2nd in his last qualifying heat. Eventually, he easily qualified for the Final and kept gaining experience. Promising! 60 Mini: Double podium in the WSK Many drivers and teams have chosen the Energy chassis in the 60 Mini class with good results. Francesco Pizzi (Giugliano Kart) and Gabriele Mini finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the final classification of the WSK Super Master Series after four races in 2016. Roman Stanek and Leonardo Caglioni also finished in style at Adria, bringing to four the number of Energy chassis in the top six of the WSK. Note that Gabriele Mini had already had the honour of starting the Italian Championship with a victory at Castelletto. A fastest lap at the European KZ2 Championship! Despite the weather not always being easy to manage and a very abrasive track which put a strain on the tyres, Energy Corse was able to avoid the pitfalls of the first round of the European KZ2 Championship in late April at Aunay les Bois. In France, Alessandro “Alex” Irlando rebounded to 6th position, with the fastest lap in the Final. Energy Corse certainly remains a benchmark team in KZ2. Energy Worldwide Europe is not the only playground for the Italian brand. Under the leadership of Josh Hunt, a talented former driver and now head of Energy Corse Asia, Energy has made a great breakthrough in the Asian market. Through excellent coaching and equipment at the top, the results have already been numerous lately: Junior Champion and 3rd in the Mini Rok Cup Asia, Vice Junior Champion at the Rok Cup Singapore, 3rd in Cadet in the X30 Challenge Malaysia and numerous performances in the X30 Challenge Singapore (3rd and 6th in Cadet, 4th and 8th in Senior, 4th in Master and 2nd in Veterans)! Winner in Rotax DD2 in Canada At the Eastern Canadian Championship at Stouffville on May 21st-22nd, Marco Signoretti completed a wonderful weekend with his Energy chassis. The winner on Saturday in Briggs and Stratton Senior, he impressed in Rotax DD2 with a formidable ascent that ended in victory! Ryland Duesburry (4th and 5th in Rotax Mini Max), Eamon Lowe (8th in Rotax Junior) and Dante Lerra (6th in Rotax DD2) also shone. Congratulations to Team Energy Kart Canada. X30 Shifter and Cadet in the UAE In April, Energy Dubai won two UAE Champion titles in the X30 Challenge. Sean Babington was crowned in Shifter, while Alex Connor and Jamie Day took the Cadet double! Congratulations to Ali Al Nijjar and Kevin Day, 2nd and 3rd respectively in Master, and all the other drivers of the

WSK: Four podiums for Energy at Castelletto

The drivers carrying the Energy colours have swept the podium at the first round of the WSK Super Master Series. In the four categories where the Italian brand had entered, they were in the top three each time. Congratulations to Christian Lundgaard (3rd in OK), David Vidales (3rd in OK-Junior), “Alex” (2nd in KZ2) and Francesco Pizzi (1st in 60 Mini with the Giugliano Kart team). What a start for the team, which is always looking to make the most of every driver! The competitors faced true winter weather at Castelletto … Snow showers disrupted Saturday significantly, so the organisers decided to cancel the qualifying heats! “The weekend was difficult to manage for everyone: drivers, mechanics and engine manufacturers,” admits Mick Panigada, team manager of Energy Corse. “Skipping from timed practice to the Prefinal was unusual, but the team reacted perfectly in this particular context. We were able to anticipate the track conditions and quickly adapt the set-ups. Congratulations to all of our representatives for their courage, and special mentions to the four drivers who managed to get their Energy karts on the podium.“ Lundgaard confirms in OKAlready on the podium in the WSK Champions Cup, Christian Lundgaard repeated his performance at Castelletto. Starting 11th, the Dane spared no effort to move up to frontrunners at a very steady pace. With this 3rd place, Lundgaard has confirmed that he will be one of the strong men of the category. OK-Junior: Top three for VidalesStill uncertain, competitive and complex to manage for young drivers, this category has again highlighted the talent of David Vidales. After a difficult start which saw him demoted to 7th in Prefinal A, the Spaniard has continued to move forward. He earned his place in 4th position on the starting grid for the final, where he again moved up a place to climb the third step of the podium. The abolition of the qualifying heats did not help the progress of Mattia Michelotto, Thomas Mialane, Theo Nouet and Dominik Goldschmied. Energy Corse still strong in KZ2The winner of the Senior Rotax World Final in 2015 proved he also had a special talent with a gearbox kart. Not content with 2nd place in its category, “Alex” was frequently fighting with more experienced drivers, who were racing in KZ. It was an intense and rewarding race for the young Italian, very comfortable with his Energy-TM. Francesco Pizzi wins 60 Mini2nd in the WSK Champions Cup, winner of the Winter Cup in Mini Rok and now again at the opening of the WSK Super Master Series! The Italian Francesco Pizzi and Energy-Parilla and the whole Giugliano Kart team never cease to impress. His rise in Prefinal A was remarkable, as was his start to the Final. This victory from Pizzi brooked no dissent. In 4th, his Czech teammate Roman Stanek was close to accompanying him on the podium. In total, the Final contained no less than seven Energy

Energy Corse finishes the season with a bang

The last few weeks have been rich in success for Energy Corse. Whether used by the factory team or satellite teams, the Italian chassis has repeatedly proven its effectiveness in every category. Congratulations to the drivers who helped increase the success of Energy Corse, at the IAME International Final, the Industrial Trophy, at the WSK Final Cup and the Bridgestone Super Cup… Babington dominates Super Shifter at Le Mans326 drivers were racing at the IAME International Final (X30) in 2015. Already having completed a very encouraging first season in KZ2 with Energy Corse, Sean Babington left all his opponents on the spot in the finals in X30 Super Shifter. He triumphed by more than three seconds! Three podiums in the Industrial TrophyThe famous international event, the Industrial Trophy celebrated its 44th edition this year. Held at Lonato, it clearly highlighted the Energy Corse colours. The KF-Junior final resulted in spectacular duels, in which Christian Lundgaard and David Vidales actively participated. They brought their Energy-TM karts to 2nd and 3rd places with honour. Among the many drivers competing under the Energy Corse banner, Frederik Vesti had the opportunity to make progress, eventually finishing 10th. There was disappointment for Mirko Colombo, who was in the top 10 in KZ2 before retiring. After a wonderful season, Mattia Michelotto (Giuliano Kart team) won the 60 Mini final with his Energy-Parilla. Vidales wins the Bridgestone Super CupVictory is in the genes of the Italian team, managed effectively by Mick Panigada, who knows how to transmit his determination and motivation to its drivers. The proof came from the Spanish driver David Vidales, the easy winner of the Bridgestone Super Cup in Lonato. The Slovak Dominik Goldschmied completed the podium. Unlucky in Mini Rok, Mattia Michelotto (Giuliano Kart) took revenge the following week by winning the Rok Cup International Final. Energy Corse on the pace at the WSK Final CupTwo Energy chassis crossed finish line at the start at Adria in 60 Mini: Mattia Michelelotto and Lucas Sommerlund. With the Mini drivers Gabriele and Francesco Pizzi, there were four drivers in the colours of Energy Corse in the top 10! In KF-Junior, where the standard was particularly high, David Vidales shined again by performing an exciting comeback from 18th to 3rd place! As in every season, you can certainly count on the Energy Corse Team for victory in 2016

Energy Corse never gives up!

European Champion and now 2nd in the “World Cup” (CIK International Super Cup): Joel Johansson and Energy Corse are definitely the big winners this season in KZ2, a category with no fewer than 96 drivers entered on the Le Mans International circuit on September 11th-13th. Despite changing weather conditions which were difficult for all competitors, the Italian team worked intensely and effectively work on French soil to allow Joel Johansson to come back from 47th to 2nd place. A special ascent to enter in the annals of Karting! In France, the Energy Corse Team experienced every emotion. Satisfaction to disappointment and determination to joy. In any case, he never gave up. The qualities of the technical staff and equipment have been rewarded with a great global performance. But it was not easy. “We did an excellent job during free practice. Many of our drivers were among the fastest on the track,” commented Mick Panigada, team manager, on Friday afternoon. However in the official qualifying session, many favourites were surprised by the combination of specific adhesion on the Le Mans race track and the quality of the tyres. Although there had been some predictions, few would bet on the order of the time trials continuing. Victory in the prefinalAlthough the Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska and the Briton Sean Babington were only a few tenths from pole, Joel Johansson, Jon Tanco, Marco Zanchetta and Juan Correa were in mid-table, and Adam Maatougui alas further back. The qualifying heats would not prove to be a bed of roses for Energy Corse, with incident thwarting the progress of powerful drivers on multiple occasions. Nevertheless there were several top fives, including those won by Babington, the brilliant winner of a race on Saturday. For his part, Joel Johansson managed his five heats perfectly. He managed to go back to 16th position. He confirmed beyond even his expectations in the prefinal 1, he won brilliantly on a wet track, with rain tyres. The expertise of the teamThe line was dry again for the final and the set-up chosen by the team was particularly effective. From the start, Johansson and his Energy-TM found themselves under pressure from the chasing pack but resisted adversity. The leader took the opportunity to get away, while Johansson managed to get on his own in 2nd position. This is where he finished. “Certainly 2nd is a taste of victory,” admitted the Swede after his magnificent performance. “47th in qualifying and finally Vice-Champion, it is a great performance! I thank the Energy Corse team for their work. It really does have the spirit of competition and the incredible craftsmanship that characterises the big teams. Two months after the European Championship, it was another achievment. It’s awesome!“ Note that at Le Mans, the Energy chassis was the fourth best represented in KZ2, a total of 25

The European KZ2 title back at Energy

Always present on European podiums without interruption for 13 years, the Energy Corse team has just celebrated its 7th European Championship since 2004, including the KZ1 title won by Paolo De Conto in 2011. A feat that no other team has managed before! At Genk in Belgium, Joel Johansson was faultless, while still one of the fastest on the track. By putting his Energy Corse-TM Racing on the podium, the talented Swede knew he would ensure the title. The unquestionable expertise of his team and its extensive international experience still makes a difference. In 2011 and 2013, second with Joel Johansson, then in 2014, third with Simas Juodvirsis, Energy Corse was on the verge of adding an additional European crown to the list. But in the KZ2 category, the team managed by Mick Panigada never stays very long without celebrating a major title. “KZ2 is one of the most popular categories in the world. All major brands are represented, the drivers are always very numerous, the equipment is extremely competitive and it is a great pride to win at this level,” said the team manager with repeatedly recognised expertise. A deserved titleJohansson and his team stayed completely focused throughout the meeting, as the Championship remained undecided. In addition, a few drops of rain disrupted the Prefinal, while the Swede’s No. 304 kart started from pole position after he took control after the Qualifying Heats. “The track was tricky and I did not take any risks to maintain a place at the front on the starting grid for the Final. There, I gave everything to reach the podium. I knew that both drivers ahead of me could not be champion, but I had to watch what was going on behind. The strategy implemented with the team worked perfectly and the competitiveness of the equipment was impeccable! It is a great satisfaction for me, after failing by a point to take the title in 2013.” At Sarno, the Championship had started badly for Johansson, driven into by another competitor. But in all three meetings, the driver in the Energy Corse colours was the most consistent at the front. At Genk his team-mate Sean Babington was able to fight in the top 10 during the whole meeting. 10th at the chequered flag, he was unfortunately penalised 30 seconds because of a dropped spoiler. As Mick Panigada likes to remember, “The season is far from over. After the podium for Juan Correa in England in KF, 4th place for David Vidales and the beautiful performance from Frederik Vesti (7th after the heats and in the Prefinal) in KF-Junior, the goal is to complete these two European Championships on a positive note in Sweden. Then it will be time to prepare for the KZ2 International Super Cup at Le Mans, a race that we have already won in
